All equipment is provided for the coaching, sessions. Please bring your own packed lunch etc on the first Saturday

Before considering applying for a place for a Junior Parents/Guardians should be aware that

candidates must be over 10 years old and that parents/Guardians must remain in attendance at all times for those under 16 years old.

Previous experience has shown that, following a course, many Parents/Guardians have expressed the view that they wished that they also joined the course at the same time as the Junior Candidates therefore consideration should be given by parents and Guardians  to becoming Candidates at the same time

‘Archery’ is often offered as a holiday pursuits and some of our Candidates have ‘done it before’. However to ensure that a consistent standard in achieved all Candidates will be taught on the basis that they are new to the sport and will be instructed in shooting techniques as taught to Archery Coach’s whilst partaking in the National Sports Coaching Scheme run by Archery GB (the trading name of the Grand National Archery Society).

All Candidates will be taught to shoot using the Clubs’ recurve training bows on a Target Archery Range. During the course there will be practical demonstrations and talks on the recurve (Olympic) bows; compound bows and longbows. Types of Archery handouts will be given to each Candidate.

Following the completion of the course successful Candidates may wish to continue with archery and join our Club (well, we hope so!). The fees for the first year of membership include a hire charge which enables you to continue to use club bows and and arrows. Coaching is ongoing, along with help and advice on the purchase and maintenance of your own equipment. The membership fees work out to be about £1.50 a week and new  members will be asked to pay at the end of your course.
